- סַנּוֹא, סַנָּאm. (סָנֵא = שָׂנֵא; cmp. קַנָּא a. קַנּוֹא) hater.Pl. סַנּוֹאִין, סַנָּאִין. Zeb.118b (ref. to Deut. 33:16, play on סְנֶה) עין … מן הס׳ שלו Ms. M. (ed. בין השנואין, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) the eye (of Joseph) which refused to enjoy that which was not its own, shall be permitted to feast on that which belongs to his haters (the brother tribes); Yalk. Josh. 29; Y.Meg.I, 72d top ששרת שכינה בסַנָּאָיו של יוסף the Divine Presence dwelt among Josephs haters.
